Originally built in the 1920s, this historic landmark reopened in 2020 after an extensive renovation that seamlessly blends its timeless charm with modern amenities. Located right on the beach, the Cabrillo Pavilion offers unparalleled coastal views, making it one of the few wedding venues in Santa Barbara that can truly claim a front-row seat to the Pacific Ocean.
Indoor-Outdoor Flexibility and Capacity
The pavilion’s upper-level event space can comfortably accommodate up to 215 guests, featuring an elegant entry lounge and two adjoining ocean-view terraces. Imagine exchanging vows on the adjacent public beach, then moving seamlessly indoors for an unforgettable reception. With its expansive windows, ocean breezes, and an abundance of natural light, the Cabrillo Pavilion sets a romantic backdrop for your perfect day.
What’s Included in Your Rental
Cabrillo Pavilion offers an eight-hour base package that includes:
- Setup and breakdown of standard facility tables and chairs
- Limited audio-visual equipment, including a sound system, projector, and a 107” diagonal pop-up screen
- Dance floor (additional fee applies)
- On-site Event Monitor and a security guard
- Cleaning services
- Access to public Wi-Fi
- Use of two outdoor terraces
- Separate multi-stall men’s and ladies’ rooms
- Central heating and air conditioning
- Wedding ceremonies can be accommodated on the adjacent public beach for an additional fee
- Easels, linens, tableware, and decor are NOT provided.
Need extra time? You can add additional hours—up to a 10-hour maximum—at an hourly rate ($477 to $862/hr depending on a day of a week). Your rental period must occur between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, with music and festivities concluding by 10:00 PM to allow for cleanup.
Rental Rates and Fees
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays: $5,500–$8,500, varying by date and residency status.
- Weekdays: $283–$339 per hour, also depending on residency.

Catering and Food Preparation
While Cabrillo Pavilion doesn’t offer full cooking facilities, there’s an on-site warming kitchen equipped with a warming oven (up to 200°F), commercial refrigerators, and a prep area. You are welcome to select any caterer or vendor you prefer. Outdoor cooking and grilling are permitted in a designated area, but no cooking may occur inside the main venue. Note that alcohol service is limited to five consecutive hours and must remain within the venue and back patio area. Mobile bars or bar trailers are not permitted.
Venue Guidelines and Restrictions
To maintain the venue’s pristine condition, please note the following:
- Prohibited Items: Sequins, glitter, confetti, silly string, rice, birdseed, mylar décor, and scattered rose petals. Using these will affect your security deposit.
- Open flame décor (candles, tiki torches, etc.) is not allowed.
- No overnight storage is permitted; all breakdown and pickups must occur within your rental period.
- No dedicated A/V technician is provided, and you must bring your own laptop or device for presentations.
Parking and Accessibility
- Vendor Parking: Available on a first-come, first-served basis in the designated commercial parking space on the east side of the building.
- Guest Parking: Nearby Cabrillo East and West public parking lots are managed by Santa Barbara’s Waterfront Department and charge a fee. Free public parking may be available along Cabrillo Blvd after 6:00 PM.
- The venue is equipped with restrooms, heating, air conditioning, and is accessible to all guests.
